RSS Feeds and Bloglines

Having already taken a very helpful class on RSS feeds with Rachel Bridgewater I felt confident in my RSS abilities. I regularly use Pageflakes, which I love and would recommend to everyone... you can find it at http://www.pageflakes.com/ - and basically it lets you design your own webpage specifically for RSS feeds (mine has a Star Trek theme). Working with Bloglines provided me with a spice of variety in the RSS feed world. As I was reading more about RSS feeds I found my mind thinking of ways to intergrate into my life and work. I think RSS feeds are the answer all around - I like efficiency and effectiveness. I am curious about the library storytime feeds, interesting.

By the way I think this video is great for those who haven't seen it ... RSS in Plain English (You Tube) ...

Experimenting with photos

Trading Card Maker

Oh, the wonders of the internet. I found the trading cards to be charming and as you see I have immortalized my bass player with his band. He found it as entertaining as myself. Anyone can make there own trading cards at http://bighugelabs.com/flickr/deck.php

Retrievr

http://labs.systemone.at/retrievr was also a blast. Half the fun is trying to sketch your own drawings (think of the orignal Mac drawing program) and see what photos will show up as a match.

Flickr Color Pickr

http://www.krazydad.com/colrpickr/ This site gives you the opportunity to seach for photos based on color(s). This would be a great resource for creating invitations, stationary, and seeing the beautiful blend of colors.
